CHAUTAUQUA THEATER COMPANY 2012
This new play by Zayd Dohrn centered on a Wikileaks-inspired story of internet privacy and international cyber-espionage. The play is a two hander between a young female anarchist and a Julian Assange-like secret document leaker. The play takes place in the young woman's small, unkempt Brooklyn apartment, following a relationship that evolves from hero worship to hookup to something more sinister. I thought it would be interesting to rip the walls off of half of the set - a literal exposing of its bones - in this exploration of what privacy means in the modern age.
